October 11 - October 15 Limes,  We had a great week with our new pumpkin unit! We read the poem "Five Little Pumpkins" during story time and practiced lots of skills using pumpkins such as identifying and matching emotions, identifying terms "big" and "small", and using our fall theme vocabulary words of "apple" and "pumpkin". On Friday, we enjoyed mixing colors to make a new color in a mess free sensory art project- it was so much fun! During center time, we had the best time exploring buying pumpkins at the pumpkin patch in the pretend center, painting in the art center, and working on many different fine motor skills in the math and manipulatives center! Our core vocabulary word this week was "turn'. We were able to learn about the word and practice using it in different contexts! October 4 - October 8 Limes,  It was a great week finishing up our apple unit as we read the story "Apple Farmer Annie" by Monica Wellington. The children did an amazing job using picture cues from the book and a field of 2 choices to answer wh (who, what, where) questions! Next week, we will continue talking about fall by starting our pumpkin unit! Our favorite center this week was the art center where we played with and explored play doh. A close second was working on file folders in math and literacy centers! During language group we practiced using the core word "wow!" with several fun and exciting activities. We continued to use the word while playing on the slide outside. Next week, we will work on the core word "turn". We had our first social-skills group of the year with Ms. Sara and had a blast identifying parts of our body through the story "From Head to Toe" by Eric Carle, and practicing following simple directions of stop and go throu
